This is an office chair
made by combining brand new office chair
parts with seats removed from authentic Ford
Mustangs. This type of seat was used up through the 2014 model year. Each seat was recovered in new black leather and embroidered with a custom logo in each backrest to create a matching set of eight for a conference room. Chairs were shipped partially
disassembled and required about 10 minutes each to put together. Only
simple hand tools are required.
This chair retains the Mustang's reclining mechanism and adjustable
headrest
height. It also has swivel, tilt, infinite tilt lock, tension adjust, height adjustment,
arms that are adjustable
vertically and laterally etc. This is a very
unique item that is near impossible to find anywhere and would be the
ultimate office chair for an enthusiast. There is a signed and dated
"Rebirth Certificate" attached to the underside of the chair that
details by year, make, model and VIN exactly which cars the seats are from

I put together the first of these chairs after having a couple of
store-bought office chairs with foam cushions that quickly became
flattened and useless and made it feel like I was sitting on a park
bench at work all day. Automobile seats are designed for long-distance
comfort and I thought they might make a great office chair. It turns out
they do. They provide all-day comfort in the office just like they do
in the cars. They typically use a combination of padding and steel
springs rather than a single piece of foam over plywood or plastic like
most office chairs and they simply don't degrade like regular office
chairs. I've been using a Mercedes chair in my office since August 2014
and couldn't be happier. One day a coworker saw my new chair, said it
was the coolest thing she's ever seen and thought I should try making
them for other people too, so here we are. I've learned a few things by
using one of these chairs daily and by having built many others. So,
I've upgraded the design of this chair as a result.
The weight capacity of this chair is 310 pounds and the front edge of the seat
cushion can be adjusted from 17.5" - 20.5."
